What if the way you get dressed every morning could actually become a spiritual practice?

That's exactly what Kimberly Parry explored with host April Chavez on The Wellness Driven Life, a podcast dedicated to helping listeners live with greater wellness, purpose, and intention.

Kimberly's Journey From Burnout to Success

Kimberly's path to personal styling was anything but conventional. As a former religion teacher, she spent 16 years teaching her students about faith and spirituality. That's when burnout changed her life. In the midst of life upheaval which involved the loss of her health, her marriage, and her career, all in the same year, she leaned into a new career as a Certified Mater professional Coach using frameworks she created from her own hard experience to help others avoid the devastating, and avoidable, effects of burnout. Over time, she realized her clients started saying similar things. That once they'd done their inner work, their outer lives didn't always reflect that.

That realization led her to combine personal and professional development coaching with personal styling into a single, transformational approach: an immersive mind-body-spirit style transformation from the inside out.

Fashion, Image, and Style Are Not the Same Thing

One of the most clarifying moments in the episode is when Kimberly distinguishes between three terms most people use interchangeably.

Fashion refers to the industry, trends, designers, and what is happening on the runway.

Image is how others perceive you.

Style is how you communicate who you are to the world. It's the deliberate choices you make to express who you are and communicate your values.

Most people are operating on autopilot when it comes to their appearance. Styling is what happens when you take back control.

How Getting Dressed Can Be a Spiritual Practice

In this podcast, Kimberly describes intentional styling as a daily spiritual practice, a moment each morning where you make a conscious choice about how you want to show up in the world. Instead of letting your clothes control you, you control them. Instead of defaulting to whatever is easiest, you ask who am I today, and how do I want to be seen.

This shift from passive to intentional is where the transformation begins.

The reason Kimberly's approach works is because she uses fashion as a tool for personal and professional development. She knows that confidence built on the inside needs to be reflected on the outside to create a total transformation. When both are aligned, something shifts in how you carry yourself, how others respond to you, and how you move through the world.

This is the foundation of Kimberly's Succeed with Style™ framework and how she helps high-performing women transform burnout into next-level success.

FAQ

What is the difference between fashion, image, and styling?

Fashion refers to the industry and trends. Image is how others perceive you. Styling is the intentional, deliberate choices you make to express your identity and communicate your values.

How does personal styling help with burnout?

Burnout often disconnects women from their sense of self. Intentional styling reconnects you to your identity, restores a sense of agency, and helps you show up with confidence when everything else feels out of control.

What is Kimberly Parry's approach to personal styling?

Kimberly combines archetypal personal development coaching with personal styling to create a holistic transformation experience. Rather than focusing only on clothes, she works with clients on the internal and external simultaneously.
